Impressions Pools offers a complete and thorough pool design, pool renovation and pool building service. We are an adaptation of our roots as a nationally accredited multi award-winning company. From initial pool project briefing to project completion. We ensure that whatever the pool project is that it is achieved through precise on-going management and an overriding passion for a successful, streamlined, and completely satisfying end result. Our teams are made up of specialists in their defined areas. We are a unique multi-disciplinary company with experts in landscape architecture, pool design, project management, pool building and all elements of construction.
OUR PROCESS
1. SITE INSPECTION / POOL CONSULTATION
This is the first and most critical step in the Impressions Pools process. The site inspection and client briefing stage is the starting point for achieving a beautiful and carefully considered pool construction project.
During this stage we provide educated and informative advice about the processes required based on the clients requirements, the complexities of the site and the project. As well as a guide to the requirements of the project from a council planning perspective.
At this preliminary consultation, we outline the next steps based on the above information and advise how the project should best be structured. For simple projects the next step is a detailed pool construction estimate. For more complex and outcome structured projects a proposal for a concept pool design and or landscaping design is the next step.
2. CONCEPT POOL & GARDEN DESIGN (NOTE: IF A REQUIREMENT)
This stage is critical for more design focussed pool installations with a bigger picture at mind. The concept design package communicates the proposed layout and mood of the proposed design as a response to the briefing stage. It includes finishes, material and planting palettes for the project with descriptive annotations used to express elements of the proposed outcome. Designs are extremely visual and schematic in presentation and clearly express the design outcome. Options for services such as 3D renderings and perspectives as well as lighting designs are offered at this stage.
3. POOL CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATE
A pool construction estimate is prepared to accompany the concept design package or in more simplistic situations it is supplied following the advise and directions outlined at the site inspection. This document is prepared by our pool estimator and proposes itemised costing budgets for all the prospective elements and features of the pool. This document gives an accurate cost for the likely pool construction costs and is prepared prior to engineering but with the likely engineering requirements in mind.
4. CONTRACT ACCEPTANCE
Following preparation and presentation of the pool construction estimate and on acceptance of this proposal the contract for works is signed and the deposit for pool and its construction is paid. The project is then initiated.
5. CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTATION & COUNCIL APPROVALS (DA/CDC)
On projects that council approval is required, a set of required council plans can be prepared once the pool concept has been resolved. An application is prepared with the relevant local council or private certifier in some cases depending the type of approval required. This includes Development Applications (DA) or a Complying Development Certificate (CDC). Our design team has experience preparing documentation for this process on difficult sites and for complex submissions. We manage this whole process and organise any requirements with the relevant sub-consultants such as engineers, certifiers, bush fire consultants, heritage consultants, arborists and town planners. Our design team with manage the whole design process until approval is granted for construction.

OUR POOL PHILOSOPHY
Often under-appreciated and typically simply a rectangle placed in the corner of the block somewhere. Impressions Pools have a different philosophy for pool design and pool building. We see pool design as a critical landscape element. We understand the function, aesthetic value and enjoyment that it can bring to a property. A good pool design becomes the centerpiece to any landscape project, a functional art installation of sorts for a residential home and garden.
Our view is that a pool both needs to be designed and built with the rest of the landscaping and the house in mind, and equally important is how it’s placed and shaped to ensure it is optimised for its enjoyment and activity by the people who will be using it. We consider topography, orientation, visual delineation as well as access and movement both within and around its structure. We understand that pools don’t necessarily need to be confined to a general rule of thumb design, but rather just as each site is unique so is each swimming pool and so are the requirements of the people that use them. Our pool building service includes various types of concrete pools including in-ground pools, plunge pools, out of ground pools, negative edge or otherwise known as wet edge pools, pools with acrylic viewing windows, spa pools as well as above ground pools.
At Impressions Pools we offer a complete and comprehensive swimming pool and spa service which includes either being part of a complex integrated landscape project or as simple one-off addition to a home. We build and design quality swimming pools and spas across Sydney and beyond ensuring relevant Australian Standards and statutory requirements are not only met but done so at the highest level of service. Our team consists of experienced and passionate pool designers, project managers and pool builders that ensure a beautiful lifestyle enhancing swimming pool installation that runs smoothly and is done so in a timely fashion.
Impressions Pools holds a full structural landscape licence and pool builders’ licence. We are a member of Swimming Pools and Spas Association (SPASA) and are covered by all the relevant insurance policies required for residential landscaping and pool construction.

We pride ourselves on our ability to establish, build and maintain both genuine and reliable relationships with our clients that support their personal and the properties needs. We offer a pool maintenance service for our clients who need this help, and as an additional utility to the services provided by Impressions Horticulture for scheduled horticulture care and detailed landscape management services.
